After November 30, 2026, Desert Retina Consultants will no longer be a participating provider with California Eye Care (CEC), the specialty network your medical group uses for eye care. Through November 30, nothing changes about your visits with Desert Retina Consultants. This does not change your health plan or your benefits — it only affects whether visits with Desert Retina Consultants are covered through the CEC network after that date.
This is a business and contracting decision between Desert Retina Consultants and CEC. What matters most is that your care isn’t interrupted, and there is a process to help make sure of that.
That depends on your coverage. Call our office and we can let you know whether your plan currently works with us, or check directly with your health plan or medical group. If you are in active treatment, you can also ask your plan about continuity of care with your current provider.
Yes. Through November 30, 2026, nothing changes — Desert Retina Consultants remains in the CEC network and will schedule you normally.
If your treatment extends beyond that date, Desert Retina Consultants will complete the care that is underway, and you can also ask your health plan or medical group about continuity of care for anything ongoing.
If you are currently in active treatment with Desert Retina Consultants, you may have the right under California law to continue your care with your current Desert Retina Consultants provider for a period of time after this change.
Contact your health plan or medical group and ask about “continuity of care.” Our staff can provide your treatment information to support that request.
We can’t advise you on your insurance choices — that’s a decision between you and your health plan. What we can tell you is what your treatment needs are, and the front office can give you a list of health plans and medical groups accepted by Desert Retina Consultants. Your plan’s member services team can walk you through your options.

The priority is your eye health. Whatever you and your health plan decide, Desert Retina Consultants will make sure your medical records and treatment information are available so your care continues without interruption.
Our team can help with questions about your upcoming appointment and can provide treatment information to support a continuity-of-care request. For questions about your specific coverage or insurance options, please contact your health plan or medical group.
